The End of American Hegemony? The Trump Administration and the Future of American Power.

Staff and students, as well as some key external stakeholders, are invited to an event with our Chancellor, Dr Fiona Hill, at The Waterside building in Durham.

Following two successful Chancellor in Conversation staff and student engagement events, a third event with our Chancellor, Dr Fiona Hill is taking place on Tuesday 10 June from 2.30pm - 4pm.

Dr Hill is an acclaimed foreign affairs specialist, author and former presidential advisor to George W Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

Her main guest will be Paul Kennedy CBE FBA, the pre-eminent economic and military historian and author of the seminal study, 'The Rise and Fall of The Great Powers' (1987). Paul Kennedy is returning to the North East of England to mark his 80th birthday and to take this opportunity to assess turbulent developments in global affairs.

Professor Barbara Keys, Professor in US History, will serve as moderator for the event. Working with Professor Janet Stewart, Executive Dean, Arts & Humanities, Lucian Hudson, Director of Advancement, Marketing & Communications, is supporting the event with his team and Event Durham.

An audience question and answer session will operate under Chatham House Rules. We encourage open discussion and free sharing information. The rules state that participants can use information from the question and answer session, but are unable to reveal who said it or which organisation they are from.

In the event of oversubscription, priority will be given to academic staff and their students.
